As Ikkaku attempts to continue his battle, Captain Soi Fon, Ukitake, Kyoraku, and the Stealth Ops arrived to surround Hozukimaru. Hozukimaru escapes by using his Bankai. The Stealth Ops managed to capture Gegetsuburi.
Ichigo goes after Hozukimaru, but was stopped by the petals of Senbonzakura. Hozukimaru escapes, Ichigo discovers the attack was from Byakuya who dissapears after the attack.
