After months of speculating about the upcoming Code Geass side-story, Boukoku no Akito regarding whether or not Zero or Lelouch will appear, at last, Newtype has just released the character designs of this show's protagonist, Hyuga Akito and Leila!
Hyuga Akito is an Eleven (Japanese for the uninitiated) belonging to the EU Army, which is considered as the weakest from the three superpowers in the Code Geass Universe. The other superpowers are: the Holy Britannian Empire and the Chinese Federation.
During year 2017, in the hellish European battlefront, he takes up a military operation with 5% survival rate as a soldier who has lost his hometown.
Leila (Romanization not yet confirmed.) is the heroine and Akito's superior. Wears a peculiar costume. Does not seem to be Japanese, and has a refined, almost princess-like air about her?
People from 2ch are speculating that she might be a Britainnian princess due to her description.
To those who are wondering, CLAMP (Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicle) is the one who did the character designs for Boukoku no Akito. This group is also responsible for the respective character designs of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
As of now, it is still unconfirmed if this series will be an OVA or a TV series, hopefully, this Code Geass title will be a TV series!
